Sign shop in Romania: from manual production to 40 letters per day

A signage workshop in central Romania was producing channel letters manually, with a capacity of about 12-15 letters per day. Orders were piling up, delivery times were stretching, and clients were starting to look for faster alternatives.

The challenge

The workshop had steady orders from advertising agencies and retail chains, but could not keep pace. Manual bending required experienced tinsmiths, and each complex letter (curved fonts, scripts) took up to 30 minutes. They were turning down large orders because they could not deliver on time.

The solution

They chose the MEC-001 for automated channel letter bending. The machine reads DXF files directly from the design software and performs notching, flanging, and bending in a single flow. One operator oversees the process while the team focuses on assembly and illumination.

The result

In the first month they reached 35-40 letters per day, regardless of font complexity. Letters come out uniform, with clean bends, and complaints about inconsistency disappeared. Their skilled time shifted from bending to finishing and installation, exactly where it matters.

The investment paid back in approximately two months, just from the orders they previously had to refuse. They now also accept trimless letter projects, which they could not execute at the required quality by hand.
